The first international flight on Saturday landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos State. This is coming after five months of the closure of the Nigerian airspace due to lockdown occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has revealed how former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo helped him build Lagos. Naija News reports that Tinubu said the withholding of allocation to the Lagos State by then-President Obasanjoduring his time as Lagos governor, challenged his administration’s creativity to be self-sustaining and made Lagos now the fifth largest economy in Africa.

Three former presidential coordinators of the amnesty programme for Niger Delta militants have been indicted for looting and misappropriating of N712 billion allocated to rehabilitate and reintegrate members of the armed group into the society. Naija News learnt that the presidential panel, which investigated alleged corruption in the amnesty programme submitted a damning report indicting three former coordinators of the federal government initiative.

The Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has denied receiving the Russian vaccine for coronavirus (COVID-19). This was made known by the Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora.

President Muhammadu Buhari has lost his family doctor, Dr Marliya Zayyana to the cold hands of death. Naija News reports that the late Zayyana was also the former Chairperson of the Governing Council, Federal University Dutsinma, Katsina State.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed one hundred and sixty-two (162) new cases of Coronavirus disease in the country. The health agency announced the newly discovered cases at exactly 11:25 pm of Saturday, September 5 via a post on its official microblogging site, Twitter.

Men of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Bwari Police Division in the Federal Capital Territory has arrested a young man for allegedly stealing a van belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps. According to the report confirmed by the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, one Hamisu Tukur, 25, has been apprehended for stealing away a van which belongs to the FRSC Headquarters at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
